IFMAR Worlds 2010 World
Championship Design! Used on
Cody King's Kyosho Inferno
MP9TKi2 to bring home the big win!!!
The AKA Impact 1:8 Competition
Buggy Tires and Inserts in hard Compound are a new design to add to your
winning tire collection for the track. Designed for use in harsh conditions
that would quickly eat up most other tires and fits nicely into the AKA
lineup. Designed to last longer and still provide great performance. The
IMPACT tire has a dense small square lug pattern with offset lug rows in the
center of the tire to deliver maximum forward traction and good wear
characteristics. The two outer rows of lugs are parallel to create a
circumferential groove at the edge of the tire to give the tire very
predicable side bite. This allows the car to rotate in the center of the
turn while still feeling very stable and predictable. The IMPACT is built on
AKA's latest carcass design featured on our ENDURO and WISHBONE tires.

The AKA 1:8 Buggy Grooved and Shaped Soft foam Insert is
designed to improve handling on tracks with sharp edges and large jump falls.
Helps absorb impacts from large vertical bumps but keeps the tires sidewall and
profile shape even under hard cornering This gives you more constant handling
performance in bumpy and rough sections on any track.

world championship along with

In more detail:
GGil Losi Jr and Mark Pavidis didn't want to use a softer
material or hollow out the inner circumference of the insert so they have
incorporated lateral grooves to the internal diameter of AKA's closed cell
inserts. The lateral grooves allow the insert to flex vertically to absorb the
large impacts while still maintaining lateral stability and overall durability
AKA inserts are known for. The result is a more predictable handling car in the
harshest track conditions. A stiff wheel combined with a laterally stable,
vertically compliant insert equals faster lap times as Cody King proved when he
used these inserts along with the new Evo wheel to take home the win at the 2010
IFMAR world championships.
